Energy released when during the burning of a nut? I have to design and complete a chemisrty investigation which compares the heating value of two nuts, on a per gram basis. (In other words, find which nut releases the mose energy when burnt). I have been looking for a formua or experiment which will let me do this but im having trouble finding anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Science Project Burning nuts to find the energy? I need to do a research paper for my science fair and im doing burning nuts to find the energy. When i burn what type of combustion is it? is it incomplete combustions? When i burn the nut why is it chemical energy and not thermal energy? I need topics to research on.
Can you burn water and make energy using a electrolyzer then burning the oxygen and hydrogen.? Can you pull the hydrogen and oxygen out of water with a electrolyzer and then burn hydrogen and oxygen in a generator to make electric that would then run the electrolyzer? In doing this could you generate more electric than you need to run the electrolyzer? Making power from water alone. Please before you say that you can't make more energy than you put in. Please think about what you are doing. The energy you are putting in is only to brake the hydrogen and oxygen out of the water. If hydrogen can be ran in a generator that would use propane and run at the same cu ft/hr as propane you can generate more power than it takes to run the electrolyzer. The oxygen is not even being used at this point and if you could use a generator that could use both the hydrogen and oxygen you could make even more power. A little bit of info to help 9000w of electricity can produce 70 cu ft/hr of hydrogen. 64 cu ft/hr hydrogen can produce 12500w of power in a normal 4 cyl generator.

What kind of energy is Burning a Candle? is it Electrical to Radiant Energy or Mechanical to Thermal or Radiant to Chemical or Chemical to light and heat energy or Electrical to light and heat energy or Mechanical to Electrical?
burning/energy/heat problem? You burned a peanut that weighs 5 grams underneath a calorimeter with 409 mL of water in it. The thermometer reading increased from 20 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius. After burning, the peanut weighs 3 grams. How much energy would be released per gram of peanut burned? (in Calories per gram)
Energy released from burning methanol? Methanol is used as a fuel in funny cars. In one drag race, a car used 24.5L of methanol travelling 420m. If the density of methanol is 0.791 kg/L and the products of combustion are carbon dioxide and water vapour, determine the energy released from the burning methanol in the race. (Answer in (a x 10^b) kJ, correct to 3 significant digits.

Do I need to sweat to lose weight? Does sitting in a Cold Room help burn energy? Ive decided to lose weight so i took up jogging. I jog 2 miles every day. But now ive noticed something. I jog lightly, but i pick my knees up, about waist high. On the first week and a half, i was sweating like a pig on the first 300 ft, but now, on my third week, a whole mile wont even make me sweat and by the end of my two mile run, i probably only lost only 1/4th cup of sweat. And also ive noticed something. . . When you are cold, your body needs to generate heat in order to keep warm. Does that count as burning calories? or is it just so little it wont make a difference?
