Can Transmission fluid be used to clean Fuel injectors?

I heard that if you add "transmission fluid" to your fuel injectors, that it is bettter than any fuel injector cleaner; is this ture? Has anyboby used this method and has any information about it - how much fluid, how much to add to the fuel tank, advantages/disadvantages of using this transmission fluid, etc, etc.

1. its good fof the fuel pimp when it start havung a problem, it only buys time. how ever I as a mechanic used ATF and fuel inj cleaner in the spark plug spot for a car that had a stuck lifter. and it worked.....

3. Some heavy equipment operators will do this in a diesel on occasion,but it won't help a gas engine.It might even make more trouble by fouling the plugs and leaving deposits,not to mention the damage to the oxygen sensor and catalytic converter.
