Is drinking quite cold water better for you than normal water, in regards to burning energy?
I heard it somewhere that if the water is very cold, your body uses up energy to warm it. Is this true?

- It takes a few more calories to warm the water, and the cold makes it taste better if you are not drinking bottled water. It is better to drink water at room temperature if you are about to eat a meal and want to feel fuller faster. I don't know why, but it works for me. Drinking water is good for you no matter what, so drink it the way you like it.
- I've heard this too, I heard it burned more calories
- If you calculate the number of Kilo-calories it takes to warm a ml of warm water by by degree Celcius, it's only a fraction of a calorie. If you do the calculation, the extra amount of calories you burn only adds up to about 17.5 calories per 16oz glass. It adds up, but not to much. If you drink 5 16oz glasses of cold water per day, you will lose about 9 lbs a year, assuming you don't negate this by eating those extra 87 or so daily calories.
